Antiferromagnetic materials offer potential for spintronic applications due to their resilience to magnetic field perturbations and lack of stray fields. Achieving exchange bias in these materials is crucial for certain applications; however, discovering such materials remains challenging due to their compensated spin structure. The quest for antiferromagnetic materials with exchange bias became a reality through our experimental study and theoretical simulation on and .

Cells of the methylotrophic yeast Ogataea parapolymorpha have two genes encoding low-affinity phosphate transporters: PHO87, encoding the plasma membrane transporter, and PHO91, encoding a protein, which is homologous to the Saccharomyces cerevisiae vacuolar membrane transporter. Earlier, we reported that inactivation of PHO91 in O. parapolymorpha interferes with methanol utilization due to the lack of activity of methanol oxidase encoded by the MOX gene.

Introduction: Subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN DBS) improves motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD), but its effect on motivation is controversial. Apathy, the lack of motivation, commonly occurs in PD and is often exacerbated after surgery and its concomitant levodopa reduction. Apathy and reward processing are associated with the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC), which standard targeting strategies avoid by targeting the dorsolateral STN.

Brain tumor-related epilepsy (BTRE) is a rare disease in which brain tumor (BT) and epilepsy overlap simultaneously and can have a negative impact on a patient's neuropsychological, behavioral, and quality of life (QoL) spheres. In this review we (a) addressed the main neuropsychological, behavioral, and QoL issues that may occur in BTRE patients, (b) described how BT, BTRE, and their respective treatments can impact these domains, and (c) identified tools and standardized evaluation methodologies specific for BTRE patients. Neuropsychological disorders and behavioral issues can be direct consequences of BTRE and all related treatments, such as surgery, anti-cancer and anti-seizure medication, corticosteroids, etc.
