Two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals materials are shaping the landscape of next-generation devices, offering significant technological value thanks to their unique, tunable, and layer-dependent electronic and optoelectronic properties. Time-domain spectroscopic techniques at terahertz (THz) frequencies offer noninvasive, contact-free methods for characterizing the dynamics of carriers in 2D materials. They also pave the path toward the applications of 2D materials in detection, imaging, manufacturing, and communication within the increasingly important THz frequency range.

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as promising solvents for biocatalysis. While their impact on enzyme solvation and stabilization has been studied for several enzyme classes, their role in substrate binding is yet to be investigated. Herein, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of horse-liver alcohol dehydrogenase (HLADH) are performed in choline chloride-ethylene glycol (ChCl-EG) and choline chloride-glycerol (ChCl-Gly) at varying water concentrations.

Metal-free molecular perovskites have shown great potential for X-ray detection due to their tunable chemical structures, low toxicity, and excellent photophysical properties. However, their limited X-ray absorption and environmental instability restrict their practical application. In this study, cesium-based molecular perovskites (MDABCO-CsX, X = Cl, Br, I) are developed by introducing Cs at the B-site to enhance X-ray absorption while retaining low toxicity.

Osmotic power extracts electricity from salinity gradients and provides a viable route toward clean energy. To improve the energy conversion efficiency, common strategies rely on fabricating precisely controlled nanopores to meet the requirements of high ionic conductivity and selectivity. We report ion transport through the free-volume networks in stacked polymer nanospheres for osmotic power harvesting.

Cu-doped LaCu Mn O perovskites have been used as a model system for a joint experimental and theoretical assessment of the influence of the Cu doping level on the structural, electronic, and magnetic properties. The different Cu-doped phases LaCuMnO (LCM37), LaCuMnO (LCM55), and LaCuMnO (LCM73) including the respective Cu- and Mn-free benchmark materials LaCuO (LC) and LaMnO (LM) have been studied by magnetization measurements and electronic paramagnetic resonance. Ferromagnetic behavior was detected for pure LM and all Cu-doped perovskites, whereas antiferromagnetic behavior was revealed for LaCuO.
