Objectives: Recently, a newly developed German program for the prevention of anorexia nervosa in girls ("PriMa") was successfully tested for effectiveness in a controlled study with prepost-design in 1,006 girls from 42 Thuringian schools (Berger et al. 2007). In the present article the test of the program's effectiveness was completed by an evaluation of the program's conception and its process.

Method: Using questionnaires, protocols and phone interviews, single parts of the program (kick-off presentation, n = 400; teachers training, n = 34; lessons, n = 392) as well as single lessons (n = 87 girls and n = 14 teachers) were evaluated.

Results: All parts of the program were evaluated as being significantly positive (better than 2.5 on a six-point scale). The questionnaires used were reliable (Cronbach's alpha between .74 and .84). The survey of program users resulted in shorter research questionnaires, a more detailed teaching manual with more interactive exercises and smaller training groups (14 instead of 20 participants).

Discussion: The introduced work points out the need to complete the evaluation of program impact with verbal and written evaluations of direct and indirect program users. This is the only way to reveal information about the program's strengths and weaknesses to continuously adjust and improve single program parts.

Murayama and Jach argue that it is not clearly specified how motivation constructs produce behavior and that this black box should be unpacked. We argue that the authors overlook important classic theory and highlight recent research programs that already started unboxing. We feel that without relying on the mechanisms that such programs uncover, the proposed computational approach will be fruitless.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a neuromuscular disease with an overall incidence of between 1 in 5,000 newborn males. Carriers may manifest progressive muscle weakness, resulting from the progressive degeneration of skeletal muscles, generating cardiac and respiratory disorders. Considering the lack of effective treatments, different therapeutic approaches have been developed, such as protein synthesis and extracellular matrix derivatives that can be used to improve muscle regeneration, maintenance, or repair.

Background: Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome (STSS) is a life-threatening condition caused by bacterial toxins. The STSS triad encompasses high fever, hypotensive shock, and a "sunburn-like" rash with desquamation. STSS, like Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), is a rare complication of streptococcal infec-tions caused by Group A Streptococcus (GAS), Streptococcal pyogenes (S.

Late Endovascular Treatment for Ischemic Stroke with Moderate to Large Infarct Volume is Associated with a Better Clinical Prognosis.

Center for Rehabilitation Medicine, Department of Neurology, Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital (Affiliated People's Hospital), Hangzhou Medical College, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China.

Objective: The concept of "time is brain" is crucial for the reperfusion therapy of ischemic stroke. However, the Infarct Growth Rate (IGR) varies among individuals, which is regarded as a more powerful factor than the time when determining infarct volume and its association with clinical outcomes. For stroke patients with a similar infarct volume, a longer time from stroke Onset to Imaging (OTI) correlates with a lower IGR, which may indicate a better prognosis.

Background: Hypertension is a major cardiovascular risk factor, yet traditional care often results in suboptimal blood pressure (BP) control at the population level. We implemented a remote hypertension management program that monitored home BP and titrated medications per algorithm. This study assessed the program's long-term effects by examining participants' office BP up to 42 months post-enrollment.
