This study evaluated the effects of selenium-enriched yeast (SY) supplementation at various levels on health and production parameters in laying hens, including egg production, egg quality, selenium (Se) concentrations in eggs, liver health, serum biochemical markers, antioxidant function, and immune responses. A total of 360 Hy-Line Brown hens (28 weeks old) were randomly assigned to four dietary groups with six replicates of 15 birds each, monitored over a 12-week feeding trial after a two-week acclimatization period. The dietary groups included a control (basal diet without selenium) and three SY-supplemented groups with Se levels of 0.

Introduction Patient consent for surgery is a vital part of the surgical pathway from both a patient safety and medicolegal point of view. Improvement in documenting the full consent process in the electronic patient record (EPR), alongside the standard completion of the paper consent form in a surgical emergency unit (SEU), to comply with the Montgomery ruling of informed consent, has become of paramount importance. The increasing popularity of prolonged-release dosage forms, owing to their ability to provide continuous drug release after administration, has significantly improved patient compliance and overall quality of life. However, achieving prolonged release beyond 24 h frequently requires the use of invasive methods, including injections or implants, which may prove challenging for people suffering from needle phobia. This study introduces atorvastatin (ATR) microparticles (MPs) or nanocrystal (NCs) dissolving microarray patches (D-MAPs) as a noninvasive alternative for intradermal drug delivery over a two-week period for the management of hyperlipidemia.
