Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration was used in establishing the diagnosis in 4 cases of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. Sonographic and cytologic characteristics are discussed. Because of its availability and ease of use, axillary ultrasonography with fine needle aspiration can be an initial diagnostic step for suspected brachial plexus tumors.

Background: Telecytology-assisted rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) offers a cost-effective method to enhance minimally invasive biopsies like fine needle aspiration and core biopsies with touch preparation. By reducing nondiagnostic sampling and the need for repeat procedures, ROSE via telecytology facilitates prompt triage for ancillary tests, improving patient management. This study examines cases initially deemed adequate for diagnosis during telecytology-assisted ROSE but later categorized as nondiagnostic at final evaluation (NDIS).

Objectives: The aims of this prospective observational study were to test worrisome features on endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) as a stratification tool in patients with mucinous pancreatic cystic lesions (PCLs), and to assess these patients' long-term risk of adenocarcinoma and mortality.
Methods: Patients with suspected PCLs on cross-sectional imaging who underwent EUS-FNA at Sahlgrenska University Hospital between February 2007 and February 2018 were consecutively enrolled. The main inclusion criterion was the final diagnosis of a mucinous PCL.

Pancreaticobiliary endoscopy is an essential tool for diagnosing and treating pancreaticobiliary diseases. However, it does not fully meet clinical needs, which presents challenges such as significant difficulty in operation and risks of missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has enhanced the diagnostic and treatment efficiency and quality of pancreaticobiliary endoscopy.

Cytopathology is a cost-effective diagnostic method crucial for investigating suspected neoplastic lesions, particularly in Nigeria's healthcare system, where non-communicable diseases, especially with increasing rates of cancer. This review highlights the evolution of cytopathology practice in Nigeria, detailing its historical development, current methodologies, and the challenges faced within the healthcare framework. Despite advancements in diagnostic techniques such as immunocytochemistry and molecular diagnostics globally, conventional methods remain essential due to their affordability and accessibility.

Objective: Diagnosing neoplasms of the salivary gland is challenging, as morphologic features of these tumors are complex, and well-defined diagnostic categories have overlapping features. Many salivary gland neoplasms are associated with recurrent genetic alterations. The utilization of RNA-based targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) panels for the detection of cancer-driving translocations and mutations is emerging in the clinical laboratory.
