Background And Hypothesis: Improvements in screening tools for early subthreshold psychosis symptoms are needed to facilitate early identification and intervention efforts, especially given the challenges of rapidly differentiating age-appropriate experiences from potential early signs of emerging psychosis. Tools can be lengthy and time-consuming, impacting their utility and accessibility across clinical settings, and age-normed data are limited. To address this gap, we sought to develop and validate a brief, empirically derived, age-normed, subthreshold psychosis screening tool, for public use.

To introduce ABBA Letter Alternation (ABBA) as a computerized measure of response inhibition/response alternation developed for telehealth following restrictions of in-person testing due to COVID-19. ABBA consists of two PowerPoint-administered trials: Letter Reading of 25 capital As or Bs individually presented, and Letter Alternation with instructions to say the opposite letter to what is presented. We obtained initial normative ABBA performance from 899 healthy research volunteers participating in the Emory Healthy Brain Study (EHBS) with Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) scores 24/30 and higher.

Importance: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common, chronic, cardiac arrythmia in older US adults. It is not known whether AF is independently associated with increased risk of retinal stroke (central retinal artery occlusion), a subtype of ischemic stroke that causes severely disabling visual loss in most cases and is a harbinger of further vascular events.
Objective: To determine whether there is an association between AF and retinal stroke.

The Patient-Rated Wrist and Hand Evaluation is an outcome measure for patients with conditions affecting the wrist or hand. We evaluated the structural validity of the Patient-Rated Wrist and Hand Evaluation using psychometric techniques, then developed computerized adaptive testing algorithms. Factor analysis found two health constructs consistent with 'Pain' and 'Motor Function'.

The EtherCAT fieldbus system is widely applied in different types of computerized numerical control (CNC) machine tools due to its outstanding communication performance. In the field of ultra-precision CNC, some machine tools employ controllers that integrate EtherCAT master functionality to achieve real-time communication with other devices; however, the open-source IgH EtherCAT master has rarely been applied to the CNC systems of ultra-precision machine tools. The feasibility of using the IgH EtherCAT master to meet the communication performance requirements of ultra-precision machine tools remains uncertain; therefore, it is necessary to validate the control effect on precision axes under the application of the IgH EtherCAT master.
