The aim was to investigate the morphological, photosynthetic, and hydraulic physiological characteristics of different genotypes of under controlled cultivation conditions. Growth, conductance, and hydraulic conductivity of the root system of 16 genotypes were evaluated in Experiment 1 (November 2013). In Experiment 2 (December 2014), in addition to the previous characteristics, gas exchange, photochemical efficiency, leaf water potential, and leaf hydraulic conductivity were investigated in five genotypes.

Application of hyperspectral reflectance technology to track changes in photosynthetic activity in () remains underexplored. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between hyperspectral reflectance and photosynthetic activity in the leaves of in response to a decrease in soil water content. Results demonstrated that the reflectance in both the visible light and near-infrared bands increased in conjunction with reduced soil water content.

Diatoms dominate phytoplankton communities in turbulent waters, where light fluctuations can be frequent and intense. Due to this complex environment, these heterokont microalgae display remarkable photoprotection strategies, including a fast Non-Photochemical Quenching (NPQ). However, in nature, several abiotic parameters (such as temperature) can influence the response of photosynthetic organisms to light stress in a synergistic or antagonistic manner.

Potato is cultivated all the year round in Pakistan. However, the major crop is the autumn crop which is planted in mid-October and contributes 80-85% of the total production. The abrupt climate change has affected the weather patterns all over the world, resulting in the reduction of the mean air temperature in autumn by almost 1.

Photochemistry-based silica formation offers a pathway toward energy-efficient and controlled fabrication processes. While the transformation of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) to silica (often referred to as SiO due to incomplete conversion) under deep ultraviolet (DUV) irradiation in the presence of oxygen/ozone has experimentally been validated, the detailed mechanism remains elusive. This study demonstrates the underlying molecular-level mechanism of PDMS-to-silica conversion using density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
