This paper briefly reviews the researches and applications of nanotechnology in ophthalmological field recent years. Nanotechnology is the production of modern science and advanced engineering. In ophthalmological field it is generally applied on foundational investigation, medicine carrying agent, biomaterial, diagnosis and therapy. It helps us observe and control physiological and pathological phenomenon at nanometer level precisely. As new drug carriers, drug-loaded nanoparticles have lots of advantages with its targeting options and sustained drug release. As biomaterial it also has better biocompatible. It is a promising material in clinical application. The diagnosis and treatment level would be improved definitely by nanotechnology.

Longitudinal Assessment of Structural and Functional Changes in Rod-cone Dystrophy: A 10-year Follow-up Study.

Ophthalmol Sci

November 2024

Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences, University of Melbourne, Parkville, Australia.

Purpose: Emerging clinical trials for inherited retinal disease (IRD) require an understanding of long-term progression. This longitudinal study investigated the genetic diagnosis and change in retinal structure and function over 10 years in rod-cone dystrophies (RCDs).

Design: Longitudinal observational follow-up study.

Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) is an emerging, non-invasive technique increasingly utilized for retinal vasculature imaging. Analysis of OCTA images can effectively diagnose retinal diseases, unfortunately, complex vascular structures within OCTA images possess significant challenges for automated segmentation. A novel, fully convolutional dense connected residual network is proposed to effectively segment the vascular regions within OCTA images.

The aim of this study is to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of CT-based adipose tissue imaging related to coronary artery disease (CAD) to investigate the dynamic development of this field. Web of Science Core Collection was used as our data source to identify relevant documents limited to articles or review articles and written in English with no time restrictions. Then we analyzed the whole trend of publications and utilized VOSviewer and Bibliometrix to conduct a bibliometric analysis including citations, keywords, countries, institutions, authors as well as co-citation analyses of cited references and sources.
