Persisting deficits are often seen years after an Achilles tendon rupture despite dedicated rehabilitation efforts. A possible reason for reduced function is elongation of the tendon and accompanying shortening of the muscle. Strength training with focus on the eccentric component of loading leads to longer muscle fascicles in healthy persons.

Identifying frequent users of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the post-discharge period can potentially direct interventions to prevent deterioration at home. This study aimed to describe the frequency of post-discharge emergency phone calls within 30 days after common medical and surgical categories of hospital admission. A retrospective cohort study retrieved data from the electronic medical record and the EMS Capital Region Denmark database after approval by the Danish Health Data Authority.

Purpose: In breast cancer (BC), neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) responses can be categorized as concentric shrinkage (CS), non-concentric shrinkage (non-CS), and complete response, influencing surgical planning and survival. This study evaluates the correlation between histopathological and radiological response patterns in BC patients after NAC and their impact on overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS).
Patients And Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 168 BC patients who received NAC between 2018 and 2022.

Understanding intrinsic muscular adaptations more deeply can help clarify their relationships with sports performance. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine if vastus lateralis muscle architecture, quality and stiffness can explain knee extensor maximal torque and countermovement and squat jump performance of athletes. One hundred and two athletes were evaluated based on the architecture, quality and stiffness of the vastus lateralis at rest.
