Eosinophilic granuloma is rarely reported within lymph nodes. Furthermore, it is even more rarely reported in the setting of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. No definitive etiologic association exists between Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) and HIV. However, their potential relationship underscores the significance of cytokines and their influence on biological niches required for Langerhans development and homeostasis.

Dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid (HA) have been widely used in recent years as a less surgically invasive cosmetic treatment. Although delayed foreign body granuloma may occur as a rare adverse reaction after the procedure, detailed histological reports are still limited. When occurring on the buccal mucosa of the oral cavity, the histopathology may resemble some lesions of minor salivary gland origin due to the material properties of HA.

We herein report a 69-year-old man with acute kidney injury who required dialysis after receiving a combination of three drug-induced lymphocyte stimulation test-positive drugs. A kidney biopsy showed tubulointerstitial nephritis with severe eosinophilic infiltration and numerous granuloma formations. Acute eosinophilic granulomatous tubulointerstitial nephritis was diagnosed.

Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) includes eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis, granulomatosis with polyangiitis, and microscopic polyangiitis. Pulmonary involvements such as interstitial pneumonia and alveolar hemorrhage are common in AAV, but pleuritis is rare. Here, we report a case of pleuritis associated with AAV.
