In order to ensure the reliability and accuracy of long-term temperature measurement where the thermometers are discommodious or even impossible to access for conventional periodical calibration, a study on miniaturized in-situ self-calibrated (MISSC) thermometers based on Ga and Ga-Zn fixed points was conducted using temperature scale transfer technology. One MISSC thermometer consists of three parts: the first is the fixed-points hardware, including a container with two cells separately filled with Ga and Ga-Zn; the second is the temperature sensing hardware, made of a Type T thermocouple; the third is the mini-power heating hardware, made of a film resistance. The measurement and calibration (M&C) system comprises a temperature measurement and data processing subsystem and a mini-power heating control subsystem.

Purpose: To propose a new reconstruction method for multidimensional MR fingerprinting (mdMRF) to address shading artifacts caused by physiological motion-induced measurement errors without navigating or gating.

Methods: The proposed method comprises two procedures: self-calibration and subspace reconstruction. The first procedure (self-calibration) applies temporally local matrix completion to reconstruct low-resolution images from a subset of under-sampled data extracted from the k-space center.

MRI RECOVERY WITH A SELF-CALIBRATED DENOISER.

Proc IEEE Int Conf Acoust Speech Signal Process

May 2022

Department of Biomedical Engineering, Ohio State University, Columbus OH, 43210, USA.

Plug-and-play (PnP) methods that employ application-specific denoisers have been proposed to solve inverse problems, including MRI reconstruction. However, training application-specific denoisers is not feasible for many applications due to the lack of training data. In this work, we propose a PnP-inspired recovery method that does not require data beyond the single, incomplete set of measurements.

Open-source FlexNIRS: A low-cost, wireless and wearable cerebral health tracker.

Neuroimage

August 2022

Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital, 149 13th Street, Charlestown, MA 02129, USA.

Currently, there is great interest in making neuroimaging widely accessible and thus expanding the sampling population for better understanding and preventing diseases. The use of wearable health devices has skyrocketed in recent years, allowing continuous assessment of physiological parameters in patients and research cohorts. While most health wearables monitor the heart, lungs and skeletal muscles, devices targeting the brain are currently lacking.

The deformable mirror (DM) in conventional model-based wavefront sensorless adaptive optics (WFSless AO) must be calibrated in advance by an additional WFS in order to precisely generate predetermined bias modes with known amplitudes. Although the WFS is unnecessary during correction, it will increase system complexity and may be unavailable in real applications. In this paper, the model-based WFSless AO algorithms, either for point-like or extended objects, are generalized to a unified form and the calibration problem comes down to the measurement of a Gram matrix.
