Diaryl-(4-piperidinyl)-pyrrole derivatives bearing cyclic amine substituents have been synthesized and evaluated as anticoccidial agents. Improvements in potency of Et-PKG inhibition, such as azetidine derivative 3a, and broad spectrum anticoccidial activities in feed, such as morpholine derivative 8c, have been achieved.

Spinosyns are secondary metabolites produced by known for their potent insecticidal properties and broad pesticidal spectrum. We report significant advancements in spinosyn biosynthesis achieved through a genome combination improvement strategy in . By integrating modified genome shuffling with ultraviolet mutation and multiomics analysis, we developed a high-yield spinosyn strain designated as YX2.

This study investigates a novel antimicrobial peptide AtR905 derived from the endophytic fungus , which was successfully expressed in , purified, and characterized, and highlighted as a promising potential biocontrol agent against various plant pathogens. The results indicated AtR905 exhibited broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities against key pathogens such as and with very low minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs). Stability tests confirmed that AtR905 retains its antimicrobial properties under varying thermal, pH, and UV conditions.

Glutaric aciduria type 1 (GA1) is a rare inherited metabolic disease increasingly included in newborn screening (NBS) programs worldwide. Because of the broad biochemical spectrum of individuals with GA1 and the lack of reliable second-tier strategies, NBS for GA1 is still confronted with a high rate of false positives. In this study, we aim to increase the specificity of NBS for GA1 and, hence, to reduce the rate of false positives through machine learning methods.

Acid sphingomyelinase deficiency (ASMD) is a rare lysosomal storage disorder with a broad clinical spectrum. Early diagnosis and initiation of treatment are crucial for improving outcomes, yet the disease often goes undiagnosed due to its rarity and phenotypic heterogeneity. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and disease incidence of newborn screening (NBS) for ASMD in Italy.

SR21, a kind of eukaryotic heterotrophic organism rich in unsaturated fatty acids, is an emerging microbial alternative to fish oil. The dietary inclusion of 15% SR21 was optimal for the growth performance of zebrafish. Previous studies demonstrated that fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (FBA) of is a valuable broad-spectrum antigen against various pathogens in aquaculture (e.
