Introduction: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous endocrinal physiological disorder characterized by chronic oligo-ovulation or an-ovulation, hyperandrogenism, and polycystic morphology in ovaries on transvaginal or abdominal ultrasound. Hyperandrogenism and insulin resistance are already well-documented pathophysiological mechanisms in PCOS. Besides this, autoimmunity has been hypothesized in its pathogenesis.

Background: Obesity is a chronic disease associated with other associated medical problems, including atherogenic dyslipidemia. Metabolic bariatric surgery (MBS) has been shown to reduce long-term cardiovascular risk (CVR). Anti-ApoA-1 antibodies (AAA1) are independently associated with cardiovascular disease, which remains a major cause of death in individuals with obesity.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune chronic disorder that damages beta cells in the pancreatic islets of Langerhans and results in hyperglycemia due to the loss of insulin. Exogenous insulin therapy can save lives but does not stop disease progression. Thus, an effective therapy may require beta cell restoration and suppression of the autoimmune response.
