Background: Atypical antipsychotics are a common treatment for serious mental illness, but many are associated with adverse effects, including weight gain and cardiovascular issues, and real-world experience may differ from clinical trial data. Cariprazine has previously demonstrated a favorable safety and tolerability profile in clinical trials. Here, we evaluated the effects of cariprazine on body weight and blood pressure for bipolar I disorder (BP-I), schizophrenia, or as adjunctive treatment for major depressive disorder (MDD) using real-world data.

Bone marrow is pivotal for normal hematopoiesis and immune responses, yet it is often compromised by malignancies. The bone microenvironment (BME), composed of bone and immune cells, maintains skeletal integrity and blood production. The emergence of primary or metastatic tumors in the skeletal system results in severe complications and contributes significantly to cancer-related mortality.

Intestinal stem cells replenish the epithelium throughout life by continuously generating intestinal epithelial cell types, including absorptive enterocytes, and secretory goblet, endocrine, and Paneth cells. This process is orchestrated by a symphony of niche factors required to maintain intestinal stem cells and to direct their proliferation and differentiation. Among the various mature intestinal epithelial cell types, Paneth cells are unique in their location in the stem cell zone, directly adjacent to intestinal stem cells.

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI), primarily caused by coronary atherosclerosis, initiates a series of events that culminate in the obstruction of coronary arteries, resulting in severe myocardial ischemia and hypoxia. The subsequent myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury further aggravates cardiac damage, leading to a decline in heart function and the risk of life-threatening complications. The complex interplay of multiple regulated cell death (RCD) pathways plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of AMI.

Senescent osteocytes are key contributors to age-related bone loss and fragility; however, the impact of mechanobiological changes in these cells remains poorly understood. This study provides a novel analysis of these changes in primary osteocytes following irradiation-induced senescence. By integrating subcellular mechanical measurements with gene expression analyses, we identified significant, time-dependent alterations in the mechanical properties of senescent bone cells.
