A 2-year-old boy presented for the evaluation of left nonpalpable testis. Laparoscopic examination revealed right migratory testis without any abnormal appearance and a uterine-like structure with an immature gonad in rectovesical fossa. Right spermatic duct merged into the uterine-like structure on the right side. The immature gonad was removed by laparoscopic procedure, while the uterine-like structure was not removed to preserve the right spermatic duct. Right orchidopexy was also performed. Histopathologic diagnosis for the removed gonad was hypoplastic testis. After the chromosomal analysis, 46 XY karyotype, we diagnosed this case as persistent Müllerian duct syndrome. Persistent Müllerian duct syndrome diagnosed by laparoscopic examination is very rare. To the best of our knowledge, this is the third case in Japan.

Background: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a standard minimally invasive technique for the treatment in gallstone disease. In difficult laparoscopic cholecystectomies, bailout strategies have been developed of which the fundus-first technique is one. The present study aims to compare the outcomes of the fundus-first technique against the standard laparoscopic approach in managing difficult cholecystectomy cases by focusing on intraoperative factors such as bleeding, bile duct injury, operative time, and postoperative complications like biliary leakage.

Objective: Pancreatic cancer is characterized by low survival rate and rapid deterioration. Methyltransferase-like 14 (METTL14), as N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase, is closely related to tumor progression. The purpose of this study is to look into how METTL14 affects pancreatic cancer tumorigenesis, cell division, and apoptosis.

A 31-year-old female patient was diagnosed with symptoms such as nausea, increased liver enzymes, and right upper quadrant pain for about a year. The parasite was detected in the common bile duct by Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and removed by Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP).

Background: The incidence of gall bladder cancer (GBC), one of the most prevalent bile duct malignancies, differs with ethnicity and geographic location. To treat unresected GBC in the Chinese setting, this study aimed to assess the financial effectiveness of a combination of modified gemcitabine and oxaliplatin.
Methods: Data from a randomized controlled study in which individuals with metastatic GBC were treated with oxaliplatin and gemcitabine demonstrated improved survival.
Objectives: The movement towards personalization of cochlear implantation has continued to generate interest about variabilities in cochlear size. In a recent meta-analysis, Atalay et al. (2022) examined organ of corti length, cochlear lateral wall, and "A" value and found that most covariates, other than congenital sensorineural hearing loss, did not impact cochlear size via these measurements.
