Objective: To study profile of services provided by an accident and emergency care department (AECD) in connection with road traffic injuries involving children in "St. Maria" University Paediatrics Hospital, Iaşi, Romania.
Methods: The survey represents a descriptive analysis of 2003-2005 data regarding the 538 injured children aged 0-18 years and allowed to design the request pattern based on: a) comparison between observed case distribution by weekday, month and season and hypothetical equal distribution using chi2 test; b) most common features of cases.
Results: Injuries ranged from 4.3% in March to 12.3% in August, being significantly higher in summer. Children aged 5-14 years represented 65.6%. The male : female and urban : rural ratios were 1.3 : 1 and 1.5 : 1, respectively. Two in three cases were found to suffer head injury, and one in two children suffered abdomen/pelvis contusions.
Conclusion: More road traffic injuries attended the AECD during summer. The common case was male gender aged 5-14 years, urban area, with head injury and abdomen/pelvis contusions.

Objective: This study aims to address the issue of driving safety on highways in the desert region of Northwest China during extreme weather conditions such as sandstorms, with the goal of reducing driver risk. It explores driver behavior under extreme conditions of sandstorms and sand accumulation, proposing safety speed recommendations and warning models for different environments to calculate the optimal warning distance in windy and sandy conditions.
Methods: Natural driving simulation experiments were conducted in windy and sandy environments, collecting driving behavior data from 45 drivers under varying visibility and road conditions with or without sand accumulation.
Background and Objective: It is well documented that Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) has recently used to explore new resistance patterns and track the dissemination of extensive and pan drug-resistant microbes in healthcare settings. This article explores the link between traumatic infections caused by road traffic accidents (RTAs) leading to coma and the development of chest infections caused by extensively drug-resistant (XDR) Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out from March to December 2022 which included a 45-year-old male patient admitted to the ICU of Al Ramadi Teaching Hospitals following a severe RTA that resulted in a TBI and subsequent coma.

Introduction: The prevalence of maxillofacial fractures is rising due to increased road traffic accidents, necessitating prompt and effective management, especially in cases of panfacial fractures. The primary objective in treating such fractures is to restore occlusion and stabilize midface buttresses and pillars.
Case Report: This article presents the case of a 56-year-old male who sustained panfacial fractures following a road accident, exhibiting symptoms including facial pain and nosebleeds.

Approximately 3% of individuals in road traffic accidents suffer ocular injuries. We present a case of a man in his late 80s who presented with bilateral corneal decompensation following airbag deployment during a road traffic accident. Ocular examination revealed multilevel ocular injury with severe bilateral corneal oedema.

This study tried to focus on the older drivers' group and explore the impact factors of injury severity involving older drivers from geo-spatial analysis. To reach the goal, a spatial analysis was proposed employing geographic information systems (GIS) with a case study application to two counties in Nevada. First, crash clusters were explored using Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN) approach to investigate the spatial crash pattern for older drivers, and determine high risk locations of injury severity.
