The measurement of three-dimensional displacement by electronic speckle-pattern interferometry with three object beams and one reference beam is presented. Multiple interference fringes corresponding to different sensitivity vectors are recorded in a single interferogram and separated by means of the Fourier transform method to give three components of displacement. The relationship between the ratio of the speckle size to the pixel size of a TV camera and the measurement error is investigated experimentally and compared with the research of others. The optimum condition leading to a minimum measurement error occurs when the speckle size is approximately equal to the pixel size. With this condition satisfied, the measurement error varies from 1.5% to 6.0%.

Background: Over 60 million patients in the USA have limited English proficiency (LEP) and experience barriers in care. Still, there exists no standardized method of monitoring the utilization of language interpreting services (LIS).
Objective: To introduce a methodological approach to systematically monitor utilization of LIS for LEP patients.

This study aims to investigate the effect of different implicit and explicit instructions on learning a fundamental motor skill (throwing task) in autistic children with a high propensity for reinvestment. A total of 48 male volunteer students with special educational needs aged between 7 and 9 years old were conveniently selected to practice a novel throwing motor task (slingerball). The study includes a 1-week the acquisition phase with five phases of measurements involving four groups: a) analogy, b) explicit instruction, c) errorless, and d) errorful paradigms.

Musculoskeletal modeling based on inverse dynamics provides a cost-effective non-invasive means for calculating intersegmental joint reaction forces and moments, solely relying on kinematic data, easily obtained from smart wearables. On the other hand, the accuracy and precision of such models strongly hinge upon the selected scaling methodology tailored to subject-specific data. This study investigates the impact of upper body mass distribution on internal and external kinetics computed using a comprehensive musculoskeletal model during level walking in both normal weight and obese individuals.

Flooding presents substantial dangers to human lives and infrastructure, underscoring the need to map flood-prone areas to implement effective mitigation measures precisely. Although machine learning algorithms have made great strides, their accuracy in flood susceptibility mapping (FSM) remains limited due to data dependence, interpretability, and explainability issues, overfitting, generalization difficulties, and hyperparameter tuning. This study suggests combining the Decision Tree (DT) algorithm with advanced, math-based metaheuristic optimization algorithms to address these limitations.

Background: Fostering a strong professional identity (PI) enhances career fulfillment. In China, therapy education is undergoing development, integrating both Western and traditional health concepts, causing inconsistent PI among therapy students. To date, no validated tools exist to measure and monitor PI of Chinese therapy students.
