Life table analysis and the two-parameter exponential method have been applied to pregnancy rates in 72 patients undergoing laparoscopic cautery exclusively. Patients with male factor infertility were excluded. Estimated cure rates for patients with stage I and II disease were 98.2% and 76.6%, respectively (not significantly different). No significant difference was seen when anovulation complicated the endometriosis (68.6%). When greater than one infertility factor was present, a significant difference was observed (50.6%). Patients with stage I disease had an average fecundity of 10.30% with decreasing values observed in stage II (7.59%), anovulation (6.67%), and more than one infertility factor (3.33%). We conclude that laparoscopic cauterization is an effective mode of therapy for the treatment of stage I and II endometriosis associated with infertility.

Background: Orthotopic murine models of pancreatic cancer represent an important tool for evaluating treatment strategies. Several genetically modified mouse tumors and xenograft models have been reported. Genetic models have unpredictable growth and variable waiting period, while orthotopic models are operative ones, difficult to create and result in irregular metastasis.

Monopolar electrocautery is usually a safe and effective technique used in laparoscopic cholecystectomy and bile duct surgery, but it may lead to adverse consequences, even ventricular fibrillation (VF). Amiodarone is an effective antiarrhythmic drug commonly used in practice to treat ventricular and atrial arrhythmias, but it may induce tachyarrhythmia or even VF. We report a case of VF occurring twice during cholecystectomy.

Introduction Anatomical hepatectomy for segment 7 (S7) lesions is technically challenging due to their restricted accessibility and close proximity to the right hepatic vein, and the robotic approach for this challenging situation is currently not supported by conclusive data. Methods We present our novel technique of robotic anatomical hepatectomy for S7 lesions utilizing the saline-linked cautery (SLiC) method. Between 2022 and 2023, 10 robotic S7 subsectionectomy or right posterior sectionectomy were performed and included in the current study.

Background: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy with ultrasonic dissection presents a compelling alternative to conventional electrocautery. The evidence for elective cholecystectomy supports the adoption of ultrasonic dissection, citing advantages such as reduced operating time, diminished bleeding, shorter hospital stays and decreased postoperative pain and nausea. However, the efficacy of this procedure in emergency surgery and patients diagnosed with acute cholecystitis remains uncertain.
