Analysis of the passband ripples in surface acoustic wave IIDT filters.

Dept. of Electr. and Comput. Eng., McMaster Univ., Hamilton, Ont.

Published: October 2012

A computer simulation, based on the quasistatic Green's function model, of the passband ripples in interdigitated interdigital transducer filters is presented. Multiple-transit echo signals and electrode interactions, under the condition of poorly matched external circuits, are included in the model. A variation on the IIDT structure that suppresses the ripples is proposed.

Design of a microstrip Wilkinson power divider using a low pass filter with the particle swarm optimization algorithm.

Sci Rep

July 2024

Electrical Department, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Razi University, Kermanshah, 6714967346, Iran.

In this paper, a microstrip Wilkinson power divider (MWPD) based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is designed, simulated, and fabricated using novel resonators. In addition, attenuators and open-ended stubs are incorporated to generate a broad cut-off band and reduce unwanted harmonics. The proposed power divider has a central frequency of 1 GHz.

Piezoelectric Microacoustic Metamaterial Filters.

IEEE Trans Ultrason Ferroelectr Freq Control

September 2024

We present the first microacoustic metamaterial filters (MMFs). The bandpass of the reported MMFs is not generated by coupling, electrically or mechanically, various acoustic resonances; instead, it originates from the passbands and stopbands of a chain of three acoustic metamaterial (AM) structures. These structures form an AM transmission line (AMTL) and two AM reflectors (AMRs), respectively.

Fine-tuning digital FIR filters with gray wolf optimization for peak performance.

School of Computer Science Engineering and Information Systems (SCORE), Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, 632014, India.

The design of optimum filters constitutes a fundamental aspect within the realm of signal processing applications. The process entails the calculation of ideal coefficients for a filter in order to get a passband with a flat response and an unlimited level of attenuation in the stopband. The objective of this work is to solve the FIR filter design problem and to compare the optimal solutions obtained from evolutionary algorithms.

In this paper, a stereoscopic ultra-wideband (UWB) Yagi-Uda (SUY) antenna with stable gain by near-zero-index metamaterial (NZIM) has been proposed for vehicular 5G communication. The proposed antenna consists of magneto-electric (ME) dipole structure and coaxial feed patch antenna. The combination of patch antenna and ME structure allows the proposed antenna can work as a Yagi-Uda antenna, which enhances its gain and bandwidth.

Application of Compact Folded-Arms Square Open-Loop Resonator to Bandpass Filter Design.

Micromachines (Basel)

January 2023

Raysoft AssetAnalytics, Regina, SK S4N 7S1, Canada.

Folded-arms square open-loop resonator (FASOLR) is a variant of the conventional microstrip square open-loop resonator (SOLR) that facilitates further device size miniaturization by having the two arms of the conventional SOLR folded inwards. This paper highlights the benefits of this brand of compact SOLR by implementing a five-pole Chebyshev bandpass filter (BPF) using compact FASOLR. The test BPF is presented, with centre frequency of 2.
