Here we present an efficient route into synthetically challenging bridged 1,2,4,5-tetraoxanes. The key to the success of this route is the use of H(2)O(2) and catalytic I(2) to form the gem-dihydroperoxide followed by a Ag(2)O mediated alkylation using 1,3-diiodopropane. Using this methodology a range of bridged tetraoxanes which display good in vitro antimalarial activity were synthesized.

The management and treatment of tumor complications pose continuous challenges due to the inherent complexity. However, the advent of drug delivery systems (DDSs) brings promising opportunities to address the tumor complications using innovative technological approaches. This review focuses on common oncological complications, including cancer thrombosis, malignant serous effusion, tumor-associated infections, cancer pain, and treatment-related complications.

Polysilicate-ferric-calcium-lanthanum (PSFCL) was synthesized through a co-polymerization method in order to treat the yellow phosphorus wastewater. Its morphology, composition and functional group were analyzed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform-Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. The optimization of the flocculant was also investigated, including La/Si molar ratio, pH, agitation time, dosage and sedimentation time.

This study presents the first instance of a crucial route for the efficient removal of boron from effluents using a strategically applied electrosorption technology using nanodiamonds annealed under argon (denoted as A-NDs). We demonstrate a significant enhancement in adsorption capacity for boron removal facilitated by a flow-through electrosorption cell, and outline the results of surface characterization and electrochemical activity tests of the fabricated nanodiamond (ND) anodes (e.g.

Liver organoids have been increasingly adopted as a critical in vitro model to study liver development and diseases. However, the pre-vascularization of liver organoids without affecting liver parenchymal specification remains a long-lasting challenge, which is essential for their application in regenerative medicine. Here, the large-scale formation of pre-vascularized human hepatobiliary organoids (vhHBOs) is presented without affecting liver epithelial specification via a novel strategy, namely nonparenchymal cell grafting (NCG).

Background: Several chemical studies described the physiological efficacy of 1,4- dihydropyridines (DHPs). DHPs bind to specific sites on the α1 subunit of L-type calcium channels, where they demonstrate a more pronounced inhibition of Ca2+ influx in vascular smooth muscle compared to myocardial tissue. This selective inhibition is the basis for their preferential vasodilatory action on peripheral and coronary arteries, a characteristic that underlies their therapeutic utility in managing hypertension and angina.
