Aim: To investigate the mechanism of NOR(1) gene, a novel gene associated with liver cancer.
Methods: NOR(1) was introduced into HepG2 cells by liposome transfection. After staining and image analysis, 6 differential expression spots which were up-regulated in NOR(1) transfected cells were isolated and identified by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel eletrophoresis (2D PAGE) and MALDI-TOF.
Results: The proteins which included zinc finger protein, tumor necrosis factor receptor, and protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor were involved in gene transcription and signal transduction associated with cancer.
Conclusion: NOR(1) gene may have some effects on liver cancer by up-regulating the expression of these proteins.

Background: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) is one of the main causes of chronic low back pain. The degenerative process is often initiated by an imbalance between catabolic and anabolic pathways. Despite the large socio-economic impact, the initiation and progress of disc degeneration are poorly understood.

Objectives: Plinabulin, a marine-derived anticancer drug targeting microtubules, exhibits anti-cancer effects on glioblastoma cells. However, its therapeutic potential, specifically for glioblastoma treatment, remains underexplored. This study aims to elucidate the mechanisms by which plinabulin exerts its effects on glioblastoma cells.
