We present a method for the calculation of the low frequency vibrational modes and frequencies of viral capsids, or other large molecules, where the modes are modeled with atomic detail. Extending ideas from electronic structure theory, an energy functional is used to find modes of a classical dynamical matrix below a fixed (pseudo-Fermi) level. The icosahedral satellite tobacco necrosis virus is modeled as an example. We find that atoms around the C5 and C3 axis have small relative displacement while the beta sheet body shows gliding motion.

Serotonin toxicity is a potentially fatal condition caused by increased serotonergic activity in the central nervous system. Cyproheptadine, a serotonergic antagonist, is recommended for treatment; however, there is a lack of evidence to support its use. The present study aimed to evaluate the evidence for the use of cyproheptadine in the management of serotonin toxicity following deliberate self-poisoning.

Aim: Diabetes mellitus is a prevalent disease in the Portuguese population and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Its proper therapeutic management is multifactorial, with lifestyle habits having a major impact. Studies show that poorer metabolic control is associated with deficient knowledge related to diabetes, lower self-efficacy, and limited patient empowerment.

Background: India is witnessing a significant increase in the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and addressing this requires a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach. The burden of NCDs puts a strain on the healthcare system, requiring an increased focus on preventive measures, early detection, and management of chronic conditions. Adopting a risk-based approach to cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in resource-poor settings offers several economic and social advantages.

Background: Previous studies have found that people with low participation in social activities and living alone were prone to have risky sexual behaviors, while people with high participation in social activities were less prone to have risky sexual behaviors. Based on the above assumptions, we conducted an analysis on elderly population's social networks and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) risky behaviors in China. In the survey study, considering the sensitivity of sexual behavior, HIV risk behavior of the elderly population is more difficult to measure, so the intermediate variable of HIV perceptions was used instead of the sexual behavioral variable.
