We report a spectroscopic study of single colloidal CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals at low temperature. We use photon-correlation Fourier spectroscopy, a technique based on measuring the correlations of the intensities detected at the outputs of a Michelson interferometer. Spectral diffusion over a few microeV is evidenced, on a typical time scale of 200 micros. A time resolution as high as 20 micros is obtained, and an upper limit of 6.5 microeV emission linewidth is measured, corresponding to a coherence time of at least 200 ps, similar to the values for epitaxial quantum dots.

Evaluating the quantum optical properties of solid-state single-photon emitters is a time-consuming task that typically requires interferometric photon correlation experiments. Photon correlation Fourier spectroscopy (PCFS) is one such technique that measures time-resolved single-emitter line shapes and offers additional spectral information over Hong-Ou-Mandel two-photon interference but requires long experimental acquisition times. Here, we demonstrate a neural ordinary differential equation model, g2NODE, that can forecast a complete and noise-free interferometry experiment from a small subset of noisy correlation functions.

Synthesis of metal nanoparticles using plant extracts is environmentally friendly and of increasing interest. However, not all plant extracts can meet successfully on the synthesis. Therefore, searching for the high potential extracts that can reduce the metal salt precursor in the synthesis reaction is essential.

Purpose: Proliferative vitreoretinal diseases (PVDs) represent a heterogeneous group of pathologies characterized by the presence of retinal proliferative membranes, in whose development retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) is deeply involved. As the only effective treatment for PVDs at present is surgery, we aimed to investigate the potential therapeutic activity of Nutlin-3a, a small non-genotoxic inhibitor of the MDM2/p53 interaction, on ARPE-19 cell line and on human RPE primary cells, as in vitro models of RPE and, more importantly, to formulate and evaluate Nutlin-3a loaded liposomes designed for ophthalmic administration.
Methods: Liposomes were produced using an innovative approach by a microfluidic device under selection of different conditions.

Purpose: Spironolactone (SPN), which is classified as an anti-androgen, has demonstrated efficacy in treating acne. This study aimed to utilize ultrasonication to create a chitosan-coated nano lipid carrier (NLC) for enhancing the delivery of SPN to the skin and treating acne.
Methods: Various hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) values were investigated to optimize the SPN-NLCs.

With respect to the Parkinson's disease (PD), herein, we aimed at synthetizing and characterizing two novel macromolecular conjugates where dopamine (DA) was linked to N,O-carboxymethyl chitosan or O-carboxymethyl chitosan, being both conjugates obtained from an organic solvent free synthetic procedure. They were characterized by FT-IR, H NMR spectroscopies, whereas thermal analysis (including Differential Scanning Calorimetry and Thermal Gravimetric Analysis) revealed good stability of the two conjugates after exposure at temperatures close to 300 °C. Release studies in simulated nasal fluid elucidated that a faster release occurred since O-carboxymethyl chitosan-DA conjugate maybe due to the less steric hindrance exerted by the polymeric moiety.
