It is well-known among swimmers and coaches that the swimming speed of the underwater dolphin kick (UDK) is higher than that of the underwater flutter kick (UFK). This study aimed to clarify the differences in swimming performance between the two kicking styles in terms of kinematics, kinetics and muscle activity. Eight male swimmers performed UDK and UFK in a water flume at same effort levels.

School of Materials Science and Physics, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou 221116, Jiangsu, China.

The application of a three-dimensional (3D)-printed biological functional scaffold in the repair of bone defects is a promising strategy. In this study, strontium-containing hydroxyapatite (SrHA) powder was synthesized by the hydrothermal method, and then poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL)/HA and PCL/SrHA composite scaffolds were prepared by the high-temperature melt extrusion 3D printing technology. The basic physical and chemical properties, in vitro biological properties, osteogenesis, and angiogenesis abilities of the scaffold were studied.

Purpose: Given the potential role of nasolacrimal duct (NLD) morphometry in the aetiology of primary acquired obstructions, it is imperative that clinicians have access to detailed anatomical information. The aim of this study was to determine normative data on nasolacrimal duct morphometry in the Turkish population sample and to provide guidelines for clinicians.

Methods: The study included retrospectively computed tomography images of a healthy Turkish population sample of 151 individuals, 79 of whom were female and 72 of whom were male.

Confinement-induced Ni-based MOF formed on TiCT MXene support for enhanced capacitive deionization of chromium(VI).

MXenes, as a novel two-dimensional lamellar material, has attracted much attention. However, MXenes lamellar are prone to collapse and stacking under hydrogen bonding and interlayer van der Waals forces, which affects their electrochemical and capacitive deionization performance. A three-dimensional Ni-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate/TiCT (Ni-BTC/TiCT) composite electrode material was developed to enhance the electrochemical and capacitive deionization performance.

This study aims to evaluate the potential enhancement in implant classification performance achieved by incorporating artificially generated images of commercially available products into a deep learning process of dental implant classification using panoramic X-ray images. To supplement an existing dataset of 7,946 in vivo dental implant images, a three-dimensional scanner was employed to create implant surface models. Subsequently, implant surface models were used to generate two-dimensional X-ray images, which were compiled along with original images to create a comprehensive dataset.
