The effect of static pressure on the intracellular pH of the Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell line DR1000L4N was investigated. In cultivation of CHO cells at 0.9 MPa, two distinct populations were observed in the histogram of a flow cytometer, while single population was observed in cultivation at 0.1 MPa. The intracellular pH of the major population at 0.9 MPa was markedly lower than that of the single population at 0.1 MPa.

Background: Recent therapeutic and technological solutions aim to improve the daily living of people with limb amputation by considering various aspects of the phantom limb, in particular painless phantom sensations (PS) and voluntary phantom movements (VPM).
Objective: Although previous research has explored these phenomena mostly without considering the prosthesis, this study investigates the influence of prosthesis wearing on painless PS, painful PS, and VPM, in people with lower-limb amputation.
Study Design: Cross-sectional study based on semi-directed interviews.

The deflector jet pressure servo valve (DJPSV), a critical component of the aircraft brake servo system, requires a precise foundational model for performance analysis, optimization, and enhancement. However, the complexity of the jet process within the V-groove of the deflector plate presents challenges for accurate mathematical modeling. To address this issue, the paper takes the DJPSV as the research object, carries out detailed mathematical modeling of its components, analyzes the influencing factors of the performance of the key component-the front stage-and optimizes the design of the key factors.

Background: The foot is an essential organ for human locomotion. Assessment of plantar pressure distribution could provide key clinical information on foot functions. However, the mechanism that links body mass index to injury is not clear.

Background: Portal hypertension (PH) resulting from static and dynamic intrahepatic changes drives liver-related complications even after removing the underlying aetiological factor.
Objective: We investigated the impact of inflammation on the dynamic component of PH during disease regression in animal models of toxin-induced cirrhosis and patients with alcohol-related cirrhosis.
Methods: In mice, cirrhosis was induced via toxin application for 12 weeks followed by toxin-withdrawal allowing for one or 2 weeks of regression.

Background: The importance of routine hypertension screening in children and adolescents is now well recognized. However, it is often undiagnosed in clinical practice, partly due to the reliance on a complex blood pressure (BP) percentile-based table with hundreds of cutoffs by age, sex, and height.
Main Text: Many studies have explored simplified tools for screening hypertension in children and adolescents, such as simplified formulas, simplified BP tables by age and sex group, by age group, or by height group, and the BP to height ratio.
