The study is based upon a comparison of 2710 women who had a medically-induced abortion and 9104 who had a surgically-induced abortion. The study showed no differences between the frequency of ectopic pregnancies, spontaneous abortion, preterm birth or low birth weight in the pregnancies following the abortion.
