Purpose: To compare the effect of dorzolamide hydrochloride 2%, timolol maleate 0.5%, and their fixed combination on intraocular pressure (IOP)and retinal and optic nerve head haemodynamics in primary open-angle glaucoma patients.
Methods: Twenty-eight patients with early moderate glaucomatous damage treated with β-blockers (>6 months) with IOP values ranging from 18 to 22 mmHg at trough participated in this trial. After a 4-week washout period, patients were randomised in two groups: group I started with dorzolamide 2% monotherapy and group II with timolol 0.50% monotherapy for 4 weeks. After this period, both groups switched to dorzolamide/timolol fixed combination for 4 weeks. IOP, ocular diastolic perfusion pressure, heart rate, and Scanning Laser Doppler Flowmetry measurements at the peripapillary retina and neuroretinal rim were taken at T0 (enrolment), T1 (wash out), T2(monotherapy), and T3 (dorzolamide/timolol).Data were compared between different study times. Statistical analysis was conducted using a paired t-test.
Results: Between T1 and T3, IOP decreased significantly in group I (-21.40%) (P<0.001)and in group II (-21.25%) (P<0.001). At the same time intervals, blood flow increased significantly at rim level for group I (+30.03%)(P<0.05) and also when all patients were considered (rim +20.81%) (P<0.05). Between T1 and T3, we also observed a significant increase of ODPP in group I (+7.24%) (P<0.01)and in group II (+6.08%) (P<0.05) and when all patients were considered (+6.71%)(P<0.001) [corrected].
Conclusions: Dorzolamide/timolol fixed combination increased blood flow significantly at the neuroretinal rim showing a combination of hypotensive and haemodynamic effects.

Objectives: To compare the maternal hemodynamic profile at 12 + 0 to 15 + 6 weeks' gestation in women who subsequently developed pre-eclampsia (PE) and those who did not, and to assess the screening performance of maternal hemodynamic parameters for PE in combination with the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) triple test, including maternal factors (MF), mean arterial pressure (MAP), uterine artery pulsatility index and placental growth factor.
Methods: This was a prospective case-control study involving Chinese women with a singleton pregnancy who underwent preterm PE screening at 11 + 0 to 13 + 6 weeks' gestation using the FMF triple test, between February 2020 and February 2023. Women identified as being at high risk (≥ 1:100) for preterm PE by the FMF triple test were matched 1:1 with women identified as low risk (< 1:100) for maternal age ± 3 years, maternal weight ± 5 kg and date of screening ± 14 days.

Objective: To assess whether social determinants of health (SDOHs) are associated with the first antiseizure medication (ASM) prescribed for newly diagnosed epilepsy.
Methods: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) standards were followed, and the protocol registered (CRD42023448998). Embase, Medline, and Web of Science were searched up to July 31, 2023.

In recent years, significant advancements have been achieved in the development of multiplex imaging methodologies for immunophenotyping, enabling a comprehensive characterization of the complexity of tumor microenvironments. Imaging mass cytometry combines the detection of over 40 cellular targets with spatial information, enabling the identification of not only which cells are present in a tissue but also their localization relative to each other. Here, we present an easy-to-implement imaging mass cytometry workflow that ranges from antibody selection and testing to running a full panel.

Background: Intratumoral oncolytic herpes simplex virus 2-GM CSF (OH2) injection has shown safety and antitumor efficacy in patients with solid tumors. Here, we examined the safety and efficacy of OH2 as a single agent or in combination with HX008, an NMPA-approved PD-1 inhibitor, in locally advanced or metastatic sarcoma patients.
Methods: This multicenter, phase 1/2 trial enrolled patients with injectable sarcoma lesions, who had failed at least 1 or more lines of standard treatment.

This study introduces a family of root-solvers for systems of nonlinear equations, leveraging the Daftardar-Gejji and Jafari Decomposition Technique coupled with the midpoint quadrature rule. Despite the existing application of these root solvers to single-variable equations, their extension to systems of nonlinear equations marks a pioneering advancement. Through meticulous derivation, this work not only expands the utility of these root solvers but also presents a comprehensive analysis of their stability and semilocal convergence; two areas of study missing in the existing literature.
