Cellular responses are the consequence of complex reactions of protein networks. The complexity should ultimately be described by a set of formulas in a quantitative fashion, in which each formula defines the reactions in response to given types of input. However, testing these formulas has not been a simple task because of the lack of appropriate means for experimental validation. 'Reverse-phase' lysate microarrays have been proved to be powerful for such requirements and thus can be a good resource for providing an experimental reference point for the theoretical biology of protein networks.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are carcinogenic compounds resulting from incomplete burning of organic materials. This work describes the successful layer-by-layer fabrication of a novel zinc oxide nanocomposite made of zinc oxide nanoparticles, aniline, sodium dodecyl sulfate, and modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes on a stainless steel wire by electrodeposition. The coating and extraction conditions were screened, optimized, and validated using factorial design and central composite design, respectively.

Human seasonal coronaviruses (hCoVs) are a group of viruses that affect the upper respiratory tract. While seasonal patterns and the annual variability of predominant hCoV species are well-documented, their genetic and species diversity in St. Petersburg and across Russia remains largely unexplored.

: A previous study investigated the in vitro release of methylene blue (MB), a widely used cationic dye in biomedical applications, from nanocellulose/nanoporous silicon (NC/nPSi) composites under conditions simulating body fluids. The results showed that MB release rates varied significantly with the nPSi concentration in the composite, highlighting its potential for controlled drug delivery. To further analyze the relationship between diffusion dynamics and the MB concentration, this study developed a finite element (FE) method to solve Fick's equations governing the drug delivery system.

The Bohai oilfield is characterized by severe heterogeneity and high average permeability, leading to a low water flooding recovery efficiency. Polymer flooding only works for a certain heterogeneous reservoir. Therefore, supplementary technologies for further enlarging the swept volume are still necessary.
