Clear cell sarcoma or malignant melanoma of soft tissue is a high-grade sarcoma with melanocytic differentiation, essentially involving tendons and aponeuroses of distal extremities in young adults. Visceral locations are exceptional and only 8 cases involving the gastrointestinal tract are reported in the literature. We present a case of an ileal clear cell sarcoma discovered in a 26-year-old woman. Moreover, we emphasize on the diagnosis difficulties of this rare type of sarcoma, characterized by the specific translocation t(12;22)(q13;q12).

The skin is a barrier that protects the human body against environmental factors (physical, including solar radiation, chemicals, and pathogens). The integrity and, consequently, the effective metabolic activity of skin cells is ensured by the cell membrane, the important structural and metabolic elements of which are phospholipids. Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is characterised by significant genetic heterogeneity, which has diagnostic and prognostic implications. Very limited evidence is available regarding DNA methylation heterogeneity. The rate at which transcription factors (TFs) bind their cognate sites has long been assumed to be limited by diffusion, and thus independent of binding site sequence. Here, we systematically test this assumption using cell-to-cell variability in gene expression as a window into the in vivo association and dissociation kinetics of the model transcription factor LacI. Using a stochastic model of the relationship between gene expression variability and binding kinetics, we performed single-cell gene expression measurements to infer association and dissociation rates for a set of 35 different LacI binding sites.
