Researchers have manipulated text comprehension by creating texts that require a title to be understood, butthe source of the comprehension deficit has not been fully examined. We created comprehension quizzes for these texts that measure the surface form, textbase, and situation model. In three experiments, participants read passages with or without a title and then answered quiz questions. Results showed that the absence of a title influenced theaccuracy rate of answering situation model questions more than answering surface form or textbase questions. This suggests that the situation model is the primary source o f difficulty for these texts. These passages and quizzes can beused in future research that requires controlled manipulation and measurement of situation level comprehension.

Background: Tibial bone fractures in the malleolar regions are a major concern during the early postoperative period of total ankle replacement (TAR), affecting patient outcomes such as stability and recovery. Design, placement, and anatomic misalignment of implant components can contribute to malleolar fractures. The aim of this study is to understand the influence of implant design features, including keel, peg, stem, and bar type design, and bone-implant interfacial conditions on malleolar fracture following TAR.

The traditional approach to resuscitating injured women of childbearing potential (WCBP) with an unknown RhD type is to transfuse RhD-negative blood products. This is to prevent alloimmunisation to the RhD antigen and ultimately prevent haemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN) in future pregnancies should she survive. RhD-negative blood products are scarce in both military and civilian blood stocks.

Background: The number of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) living in residential settings has not changed substantially in recent years in Spain. To change this situation the project "My House: A Life in the Community" aims to promote the transition of individuals with IDD and high support needs into community settings.
Aims: This paper deepens the understanding of the underlying mechanisms responsible for the changes observed in the process of deinstitutionalization.

With the rapid increase in end-of-life smartphones, enhancing the automation and intelligence of their recycling processes has become an urgent challenge. At present, the disassembly of discarded smartphones predominantly relies on manual labor, which is not only inefficient but also associated with environmental pollution and high labor intensity. In the context of end-of-life smartphone recycling, complex situations such as stacking and occlusion are commonly encountered.

A population model is presented to study the combined effects of ionising radiation and chemical pollutants on wildlife. The model is based on first order, non-linear and logistic differential equations combining mortality, morbidity and reproduction phenomena with life history data and ecological interactions. Acclimation is considered as a possible mechanism to study theoretically this effect at low levels of radiation or chemical concentration.
