Genitourinary tuberculosis accounts for 8-15 % of cases of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, with the testis being an infrequent site of involvement, seen in 3 % of individuals with genital tuberculosis. Testicular tuberculosis often presents with symptoms that mimic those of other testicular conditions, including neoplasms, infections and testicular torsion. We report the case of a 51-year-old male with a history of tuberculosis 11 years prior, who presented with left testicular pain, swelling, and an ulcer.

Objectives: Auditory deprivation results in functional enhancement of the remaining intact visual modality, and the underlying mechanisms include cross-modal recruitment of additional resources from the auditory cortex and compensatory reorganization of the visual network in bilateral deafness. However, how resources are allocated between hearing and vision has not been determined in patients with partial auditory deprivation. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between functional plasticity of the visual and auditory pathways in patients with congenital single-sided deafness (SSD), a typical partial deprivation condition.

Introduction: Oncoplastic breast surgery (OPS) with immediate symmetrization is commonly performed. However, its impact on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) remains uncertain.
Methods: Patients with stage 0-III breast cancer who underwent OPS (including oncoplastic breast conserving surgery, or nipple- or skin-sparing mastectomy) at a Swiss university hospital between 01/2013-12/2023 who completed a postoperative BREAST-Q questionnaire were identified from a prospectively maintained database.

Glaucomatous optic neuropathy, or glaucoma, is the world's primary cause of irreversible blindness. Glaucoma is comorbid with other neurodegenerative diseases, but how it might impact the environment of the full central nervous system to increase neurodegenerative vulnerability is unknown. Two neurodegenerative events occur early in the optic nerve, the structural link between the retina and brain: loss of anterograde transport in retinal ganglion cell (RGC) axons and early alterations in astrocyte structure and function.
