With the advent of commercial DNA databases, investigative genetic genealogy (IGG) has emerged as a powerful forensic tool, rivalling the impact of STR analyses, introduced four decades ago. IGG has been frequently applied in the US and tested in other countries, but never in Norway. Here, we apply IGG to three cold criminal cases and successfully identify the donor of the DNA in two of these cases.

Venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA ECMO) may provide temporary hemodynamic support for patients with severe vasodilatory shock due to toxicologic ingestion. In a series of 10 cases of children less than 18 years of age who received VA ECMO support for toxicologic-induced vasodilatory shock, there were eight survivors and two nonsurvivors who died of significant neurologic injury. Upon initiation of ECMO support, survivors had decline in Vasoactive-Inotrope Scores (VIS).

Background: With the use of machine learning algorithms, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a viable diagnostic and treatment tool for oral cancer. AI can assess a variety of information, including histopathology slides and intraoral pictures.
Aim: The purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate the efficacy and accuracy of AI technology in the detection and diagnosis of oral cancer between 2020 and 2024.

Victorian Cancer Registry, Cancer Council Victoria, Victoria, Australia.
Purpose: Enhancing the speed and efficiency of clinical trial recruitment is a key objective across international health systems. This study aimed to use artificial intelligence (AI) applied in the Victorian Cancer Registry (VCR), a population-based cancer registry, to assess (1) if VCR received all relevant pathology reports for three clinical trials, (2) AI accuracy in auto-extracting information from pathology reports for recruitment, and (3) the number of participants approached for trial enrollment using the AI approach compared with standard hospital-based recruitment.
Methods: To verify pathology report accessibility for VCR trial enrollment, reports from the laboratory were cross-referenced.
