Developing low-toxicity, high-efficacy, and fast-acting strategies to manage acute liver injury (ALI) is critical due to its rapid progression and potential for severe outcomes. Curcumin (CUR) has shown promise in ALI therapy due to its ability to modulate the inflammatory microenvironment by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS). Nevertheless, CUR is highly hydrophobic limiting its bioavailability and effective in vivo transport, which hinders its further application.

A semi-automated workflow relying on atomic-scale modelling is introduced to explore and understand the yet-unsolved structure of the crystalline AsTe material, recently obtained from crystallization of the parent AsTe glass, which shows promising properties for thermoelectric applications. The seemingly complex crystal structure of AsTe is investigated with density functional theory, from the stand point of As/Te disorder, in a structural template derived from elemental-Te (Te), following experimental findings from combined X-ray total scattering and diffraction. Our workflow includes a combinatorial structure generation step followed by successive structure selection and relaxation steps with progressively-increasing accuracy levels and a multi-criterion evaluation procedure.

In a prospective longitudinal study with 218 Parkinson's disease (PD) patients in the discovery cohort and 84 in the validation cohort, we aimed to identify novel blood biomarkers predicting disability milestones in PD. Through Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator-Cox (Lasso-Cox) regression, developed nomogram predictive model and Linear mixed-effects models, we identified low level of plasma fibronectin (pFN) as one of the best-performing risk markers in predicting disability milestones. A low level of pFN was associated with a short milestone-free survival period in PD.

Objectives: This study compared the clinical accuracy of two different stationary face scanners, employing progressive capture and multi-view simultaneous capture scanning technologies.

Methods: Forty dentate volunteers participated in the study. Soft tissue landmarks were marked with a pen on the participants' faces to measure the distances between them.
