Background: Biomechanical studies suggest that the triceps brachii muscle generates resistive force against valgus stress on the elbow during baseball pitching. However, given the parallel fiber orientation in the distal tendinous structure of the triceps brachii, the mechanism behind this anti-valgus force remains unclear. In the present study, we aimed to examine the anatomy of the distal tendinous structure of the triceps brachii using bony morphological, macroscopic, and histological methods.

Nanotechnology is a rapidly expanding field with diverse healthcare, agriculture, and industry applications. Central to this discipline is manipulating materials at the nanoscale, particularly nanoparticles (NPs) ranging from 1 to 100 nm. These NPs can be synthesized through various methods, including chemical, physical, and biological processes.

Metalloporphyrins on interfaces offer a rich playground for functional materials and hence have been subjected to intense scrutiny over the past decades. As the same porphyrin macrocycle on the same surface may exhibit vastly different physicochemical properties depending on the metal center and its substituents, it is vital to have a thorough structural and chemical characterization of such systems. Here, we explore the distinctions arising from coverage and macrocycle substituents on the closely related ruthenium octaethyl porphyrin and ruthenium tetrabenzo porphyrin on Ag(111).

Eutrophication and hypereutrophication in lakes foster harmful blue-green algal blooms, which pose a significant threat to the ecological health of freshwater reservoirs. This study investigated the effectiveness of the bio-flocculation approach using the fungus strain BGF4A1 to remove these harmful blooms, specifically targeting cyanobacterial species like PCC-7914. Key flocculation parameters, cyanobacterial concentrations, adsorption kinetics, and pellet morphology were explored in this research.

Background: Familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia (FHH) is a rare, benign condition that shares characteristics with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT), a more sinister condition that requires surgical intervention. This case report demonstrates misdiagnosis of FHH and highlights important learning points to prevent this in the future.
Case Presentation: Hypercalcaemia was incidentally discovered in a 21-year-old patient who had no symptoms of hypercalcaemia and no significant family history.
