A 63-year-old man with diabetes mellitus for 15 years was admitted to our hospital in 1990 because of end-stage renal failure. Five days after beginning continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) he developed an eosinophilic peritonitis (EP). With protein loss in the dialysate and a decreased serum albumin level, the patient developed ankle edema. The patient was treated with glycyrrhizin, and his EP resolved. It is suggested that an allergic background may play an important role in the development of EP in patients on CAPD.

Objective: Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) is a rare condition marked by inflammation and fibrosis affecting the peritoneal and retroperitoneal soft tissues. In recent years, the identification of IgG4-related diseases has brought to light a significant association with fibrous disorders, including RPF, which were once considered independent. In this comprehensive cohort study, we performed a comparative analysis of the demographic, clinical, laboratory, histopathological, and therapeutic characteristics between patients with IgG4-related RPF and those with idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis (iRPF).

The aim of this study is to describe the ultrasonographic features of feline gastrointestinal eosinophilic sclerosing fibroplasia (FGESF) before histological diagnosis and during follow-up after surgical excision and/or medical treatment. This multicentric retrospective case series study includes medical records of cats diagnosed histologically, which had an ultrasound before diagnosis and a minimum of one follow-up ultrasound at least 4 weeks after treatment. Thirty cats were included in the study.

Soft tissue tumors with EWSR1/FUS fusion to genes encoding the cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element-binding (CREB) transcription factor family (ATF1, CREB1, and CREM) are rare and heterogeneous aggressive tumors, often found in the peritoneal cavity. Here, we report two cases of malignant epithelioid tumors with EWSR1::CREB fusion involving the kidney in females in their 30 s. Both tumors appeared as solitary masses, measuring 5.

Introduction: Eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) is a rare immune-mediated chronic inflammatory disorder, which is classified into 3 types according to the affected gastric wall layer. The serosal-type EGE is the least common type. Gastric oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (OCEUS) may show some specific changes in the serosal-type EGE.

Background: Icodextrin is a type of peritoneal dialysis (PD) osmolyte that can be extended retention times (8-16 h) and may offer a viable alternative to conventional glucose dialysis solutions for PD patients. Nonetheless, prolonged use of icodextrin may lead to allergic rash, and rarely severe skin lesions.
Case Presentation: In February 2024, a 45-year-old male was admitted to the Department of Nephrology at Shaoxing Second Hospital presenting with a 3-day history of intense generalized pruritic erythematous rash.
