Department of Bio Health Science, College of Natural Science, Changwon National University, Changwon, Republic of Korea.

Di--butyl phthalate (DBP) is a phthalate-based material used as a plasticizer to soften polyvinyl chloride, and classified as an endocrine disruptor with antiandrogen effects. Exposure to DBP induces oxidative stress in rat testes, resulting in testicular toxicity. Black ginseng (BG) exhibits a higher antioxidant activity than white or red ginseng following repeated heat treatment and processing.

Electrospun nanofibrous films containing different active agents were prepared and compared to improve the storage quality of blackberries. We added different essential oils, phenolic acids, microbial antagonists and plant growth regulators to poly(lactic acid)/polycaprolactone (PP) nanofilms and compared their antimicrobial properties against bacteria and fungi. Based on the results, oregano essential oil/PP (OPP), chlorogenic acid/PP (CPP), natamycin/PP (NPP) and methyl jasmonate/PP (MPP) were selected.

Different dyes are discharged into water streams, causing significant pollution to the entire ecosystem. The present work deals with the removal of acid red 2 dye (methyl red-as an anionic dye) by green sorbents based on chitosan derivatization. In this regard, two classes of chitosan derivatives-a total of six-were prepared by gamma irradiation at 30 kGy.
