Objectives: Electronic health records (EHRs) data are increasingly used for research and analysis, but there is little empirical evidence to inform how automated and manual assessments can be combined to efficiently assess data quality in large EHR repositories.
Materials And Methods: The GEMINI database collected data from 462 226 patient admissions across 32 hospitals from 2021 to 2023. We report data quality issues identified through semi-automated and manual data quality assessments completed during the data collection phase.

Describing countertransference feelings and conflicts towards end of treatment is difficult for analysts and the literature on termination tends to focus on what should happen not what does. The inherent incompleteness and inevitable frustrations of patient's and analyst's wishes can throw both into confusion at the very point when the wish for certainty and completion is heightened. This paper describes a case where patient and analyst repeatedly felt thrown into doubt about whether and how analysis should end.

Objective: To analyse the budget impact of adopting routine renal tumour biopsy (RTB) prior to decision on surgical treatment for clinical T1 renal tumours in Sweden.
Material And Methods: This study used data from the National Swedish Kidney Cancer Register including 4,109 T1N0M0 renal tumours surgically treated during the years 2018-2022. We modelled a gradual increase in the proportion of preoperative RTBs over a five-year period, from 15.

Background: We previously identified associations of esophageal adenocarcinoma (EA) risk with four inflammation-related candidate biomarkers: TNFR2, IL17A, VEGFR3 and resistin.
Methods: We aimed to replicate these candidates and discover novel associations with additional proteins. We conducted a nested case-control study of men with prediagnostic biospecimens stored at the US Department of Defense Serum Repository, including 203 incident EA cases.

In recent years, power analysis has become widely used in applied sciences, with the increasing importance of the replicability issue. When distribution-free methods, such as partial least squares (PLS)-based approaches, are considered, formulating power analysis is challenging. In this study, we introduce the methodological framework of a new procedure for performing power analysis when PLS-based methods are used.
