Department of Anesthesia, Health Science University, Ankara City Hospital, Ankara, Turkey.
Background: The aim of this study was to compare anesthesiology residents' acquisition of gripping and needling skills in either single-or double-operator ultrasound-guided nerve block using a hand-made phantom.
Design: Prospective, randomized controlled study.
Methods: After a tutorial session, 47 ultrasound-novice residents performed needling with double and single operator (Jedi, Bedforth, On-lock) grip techniques in each of the 3 interventional task sessions.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of using a gelatine-based model, that can be prepared easily and at a low cost, compared to training without a model in ultrasonography (USG) guided internal jugular venous catheter placement training.
Study Design: An open-label, randomised clinical trial.
Place And Duration Of Study: (UHS) Izmir Bozyaka Training and Research Hospital, Izmir, Turkey, from 1st to 30th July 2019.

Clinical Issue: Pelvic arterial bleeding constitutes a potentially life-threatening event, which can be difficult to control with surgical procedures alone, especially in the case of ligamentous ruptures and a subsequently increased pelvic volume.
Standard Radiological Procedures: Using angiography and embolization (AE) with resorbable gelatine-based particles or permanent coils, plugs, liquid embolic systems or by vascular stenting, in most cases traumatic pelvic arterial bleeding can be stopped and can also be used to close pseudoaneurysms, arteriovenous fistulas or dissections.
Methodological Innovation And Evaluation: The AE has become established as a fast and effective minimally invasive procedure in the treatment of traumatic pelvic vascular injuries with an advantageous risk-benefit ratio.

Background: In the context of ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks (regional anesthesia), clear visualization of the needle tip and the target structure are mandatory for the performance of a safe puncture and injection. The purpose of this in vitro study was to analyze the visualization of different forms of needle tips and calibers of cannulas in a phantom simulating human tissue, with the help of a standardized image analysis system. Different depths and angles of the puncture needle in relation to the ultrasound probe were tested.
