The aim of this study is to validate a uniform method for measuring perineal descent which can be used for different imaging methods, to establish cut-off values for this measurement, and to assess diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) of imaging techniques using these cut-off values. Secondly, the study aims to correlate perineal descent to symptoms, signs and imaging findings in women with obstructed defaecation syndrome (ODS) to assess its clinical relevance. Cross-sectional study of 131 women with symptoms of ODS.

Monitoring real-time health conditions is a rinsing demand in a pandemic prone era. Wearable Point-of-Care (POC) devices with paper and fabric-based sensors are emerging as simple, low-cost, portable, and disposable analytical tools for development of green POC devices (GPOCDs). Capabilities of passive fluid transportation, compatibility with biochemical analytes, disposability and high degree of tunability using vivid device fabrication strategies enables development of highly sensitive and economically feasible POC sensors in particularly post COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

Animal experimental models are ruled out by respecting the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) rules which governed the experimental research for decades with an increased tendency to minimize as much as it is possible any pain suffering or distress that the animals might feel. The chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) model is an alternative to other experimental models due to its superior properties compared to other animal models. The CAM is painless by itself due to the lack of innervation and has no immune cells till the 11th day of incubation.
