Thermally induced output power enhancement and threshold reduction in an Er(3+)/Yb(3+) -codoped optical fiber laser at 1.54mum pumped by 1.064-mu;m cw radiation is demonstrated. Steady fourfold output power increase and threshold decrease were achieved by heating of the Yb(3+) -sensitized Er(3+) -doped fiber laser medium in the temperature range 23-150 degrees C degrees . The laser efficiency thermal behavior is assigned to the temperature-dependent effective absorption cross section of the ytterbium sensitizer through the so-called multiphonon-assisted anti-Stokes excitation process.

Piezoelectric polymer textiles offer distinct advantages in the fabrication of wearable nanogenerators (NGs). One effective strategy to enhance the output capacity of NGs is to modulate the piezoelectric performance of the textiles. This paper focuses on further improving the piezoelectric properties of nylon-11,11 textiles through post-drawing and annealing treatments.

Background: Both listening to music during warm-up and consuming caffeine before exercise have been independently shown to enhance athletic performance. However, the potential synergistic effects of combining these strategies remain largely unexplored. To date, only two studies have reported additional benefits to combining music during warm-up with a caffeine dose of 3 mg/kg on taekwondo-specific performance tasks.

A Feature-Enhanced Small Object Detection Algorithm Based on Attention Mechanism.

Sensors (Basel)

School of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, Jiangnan University, Wuxi 214122, China.

With the rapid development of AI algorithms and computational power, object recognition based on deep learning frameworks has become a major research direction in computer vision. UAVs equipped with object detection systems are increasingly used in fields like smart transportation, disaster warning, and emergency rescue. However, due to factors such as the environment, lighting, altitude, and angle, UAV images face challenges like small object sizes, high object density, and significant background interference, making object detection tasks difficult.

This study evaluated the influence of cycle computers on the accuracy of power and cadence data. The research was divided into three phases: (1) a graded exercise test (GXT) at different constant loads to record power and cadence data; (2) a self-paced effort lasting 1 min to measure mean maximal power output (MMP); and (3) a short all-out effort. Eight cyclists completed the GXT, ten participated in the 1-min test, and thirty participated in the sprint effort.

This paper presents the design and performance evaluation of an inductive conductivity sensor with a double tuning impedance matching network to enhance sensitivity and improve linearity. The sensor's equivalent circuit model is analyzed and verified through simulation, and impedance matching is shown to significantly increase the sensor's output signal, particularly at low conductivity measurements. Double tuning impedance matching expands the frequency response range and optimizes power transfer efficiency, achieving a higher power factor across a broader frequency range.
