This meta-analysis evaluated the analgesic efficacy of erector spinae plane block (ESPB) in metabolic surgery through analysis of ten randomized controlled trials (786 patients). ESPB demonstrated superior pain control compared to placebo from 2-12 h postoperatively, with peak effect at 6 h and sustained movement-related pain reduction through 24 h. ESPB showed comparable analgesic efficacy to other nerve blocks within 24 h postoperatively.

The Amazon region holds untapped potential with its starch-rich tubers, which are not yet industrialized and face a risk of extinction due to competition from widely cultivated crops. Beyond their traditional subsistence use, Amazonian tubers such as Mairá and Ariá can be utilized as starch sources, offering an opportunity to support regional agriculture, preserve indigenous heritage, and provide sustainable income streams. This study aimed to characterize starches extracted from Mairá (MPS) and Ariá (ARS for rhizome and APS for potato), focusing on their technological and functional potential.

The coordination of public and private goods production is essential for bacterial adaptation to environmental changes. Quorum sensing (QS) regulates this balance by mediating the trade-off between the communal benefits of "public goods," such as siderophores and antibiotics, and the individual metabolic needs fulfilled by "private goods," such as intracellular metabolites utilized for growth and survival. Pseudomonas fluorescens 2P24 harbors a LasI/LasR-type QS system, MupI/MupR, which regulates mupirocin production through signaling molecules.

Introduction: A multi-stakeholder conference was held in 2023, celebrating the achievements of the Burdett National Transition Nursing Network (BNTNN). The BNTNN had been implemented across England in 2020 to map the current state of young people's healthcare transition into adult services across England, and work with key stakeholders to coach them through making sustainable quality improvements to young people's transition services. This work was funded by the Burdett Trust for Nursing, following the success of an exemplar Model for Quality Improvement (QI) for Transition, which had been developed at a Teaching Hospital in England.

A shared multi(socioecological)-level conceptualization of this journey among the multiple stakeholders is the first step for systematically improving limb care through identification of bottlenecks and gaps, contributory factors, and responsive interventions and implementation strategies.
Objective: To meet this knowledge gap by presenting a novel implementation model, the Multilevel Limb-loss and Preservation Rehabilitation Continuum (MLPRC), that can be used to develop multilevel applications.
