There are at least two different techniques for preparing teeth prior to bonded porcelain restorations. The first involves using depth cutters guided by the existing tooth structure. A more recently developed approach integrates an additive wax-up that represents the final volume of the teeth, with indices used to guide the preparation design. This article illustrates in detail a clinical case that was prepared by combining the earlier simplified depth cutter approach with recontouring and preparation design principles determined clinically by the dentist. The same case was prepared in the laboratory on plastic models, using labial and incisal reduction preparation guides fabricated from a diagnostic wax-up. This combination of techniques will simplify preparation design for difficult space management cases and facilitate predictable and repeatable results that meet current esthetic standards while staying conservative and preserving tooth structure.

The 2-substituted benzimidazole has emerged as a promising heterocyclic compound in the field of drug design. In pursuit of more sustainable photocatalysts for 2-substituted benzimidazole synthesis, the method for coating FeO with V-doped TiO was presented. On the base of characterizing composition, morphology, and properties, the prepared nano-sized FeO@V/TiO composites were used as a heterogeneous photocatalyst to catalyze the synthesis of 2-substituted benzimidazoles under light.

This research highlights a sustainable approach for the design and synthesis of a magnetic nickel ferrite (NiFeO) catalyst reutilizing industrial waste, specifically iron ore tailing and Raney nickel catalyst processing waste, by simple co-precipitation method. Transforming waste materials into high-performance catalysts, this study aligns with the principles of a circular economy, addressing both environmental waste and pollution. Structural characterization by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and microscopic (FESEM and TEM) revealed the formation of well crystalline nano ferrite with NiFeO nanoparticles with cubic spinel structure.

Catenated networks exclusively composed of intertwining rings were first envisioned as "Olympic gels" by Pierre-Gilles de Gennes four decades ago but have not been successfully prepared in artificial materials yet due to the challenge in synthesis. Herein, we present a bio-inspired, evaporation-assisted strategy to address this issue. In our design, the evaporation of liquid catalysts that induce ring-chain equilibrium of polymer systems drives macrocycles to encounter and assists their catenation through reversible cyclization.

Three chondroitin sulfate (CS) analogues with predominant subtypes (A, C, and E) were prepared from engineered K4 combined with regioselective sulfation. CS with the designed sulfates as the main components was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, elementary analysis, and disaccharide analysis. CS prepared from the native or degraded capsular polysaccharide had molecular weights of 1.

This paper investigates the historical prohibition of skateboarding in Norway from 1977 to 1989, a unique instance of such a comprehensive ban globally. The study aims to understand the circumstances leading to this ban and the rationale behind it. Two primary explanations emerged around the ban: one from a bureaucratic perspective citing risk management, and the other from skateboarders seeing it as a regulation of their counterculture.
