The author presents a review of benign and malignant tumors that may affect the fetus. Virtually all tumors that occur in children and adults may also develop in the fetus, and can be found in the neonate. For their early diagnosis ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging are of critical importance. These techniques represent the cutting edge of contemporary diagnostic technology. Regretfully, the progress in perinatal diagnostic methodology has not been matched, as yet, by comparable therapeutic options. These are still in their experimental stages. Only a few centers perform surgical interventions. Options vary about the risk-benefit ratios of the respective operative procedures.

Objectives: Sickle cell disease (SCD), which disproportionately affects minorities, increases complications during pregnancy. Severe maternal mortality is increased in women with SCD, including morbidity related to the disease and other nondisease-related complications. It also can have devastating complications for fetuses, with increases in premature birth and low birth weight.

Introduction: Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) represents a significant clinical challenge, with its underlying mechanisms yet to be fully elucidated. Despite advances in understanding, the precise pathophysiology driving RSA remains unclear. Angelica sinensis, a traditional herbal remedy, is frequently used as an adjunctive treatment for miscarriage.

Introduction: Developing strategies to improve the therapeutic efficacy of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) in autoimmune diseases have garnered increased attention.
Objectives: To evaluate whether rapamycin-induced autophagy within the systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) inflammatory microenvironment (Rapa-SLE) augments the therapeutic effects of MSC-derived EVs in SLE.
Methods: The therapeutic potential of the resulting EVs (Rapa-SLE-EV) was assessed in MRL/lpr mice.

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a novel fibroblast activation protein (FAP)-specific tracer, fluorine-18-labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor-FUSCC-07 ([F]F-FAPI-FUSCC-07), for use in both preclinical and clinical settings. Preclinical evaluations were conducted to assess the stability and partition coefficient of [F]F-FAPI-FUSCC-07. Experiments involving human glioma U87MG cells demonstrated its cellular uptake and inhibitory properties.

Objective: To investigate the roles of fecal short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Methods: The levels of SCFAs (acetate, propionate, and butyrate) in 83 patients with PCOS and 63 controls were measured, and their relationships with various metabolic parameters were analyzed. Intestinal microbiome analysis was conducted to identify relevant bacteria.
