Recently, cancer therapy with mutiple genes has been attached with great attention. However, at present there is no efficient tool to construct multiple-cistrons. The large sizes and the imbalance in expression of most traditional tools, such as ribosome entry sites (IRESes),greatly block their wide employment in the construction of multiple cistronic gene therapy vectors. The self-cleaving peptide 2A from foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) has a very small size, and more importantly, high cleavage activity in artifical bicistron, which bring new hope for mutiple genes therapy stategy. In this article, the characteristics and cleavage activities of FMDV 2A will be elucidated, and we further outline its applications in cancer gene therapy.

The Streptococcus canis Cas9 protein (ScCas9) recognizes the NNG protospacer adjacent motif (PAM), offering a wider range of targets than that offered by the commonly used S. pyogenes Cas9 protein (SpCas9). However, both ScCas9 and its evolved Sc++ variant still exhibit low genome editing efficiency in plants, particularly at the less preferred NTG and NCG PAM targets.

Due to the emphasis on the environmental and health issues caused by petroleum-based plastics, renewable lignocellulosic materials emerge as promising substitutes. However, their practical application remains hindered by unsatisfactory properties such as fragility and sensitivity to water. Dealing with the challenge of non-thermal processing of xylan and addressing the issue of performance degradation resulting from the hygroscopicity of materials.

Efficient recombinant protein production requires mammalian stable cell lines or often relies on inefficient transfection processes. Baculoviral transduction of mammalian cells (BacMam) offers cost-effective and robust gene transfer and straightforward scalability. The advantages over conventional approaches are, no need of high biosafety level laboratories, efficient transduction of various cell types and transfer of large transgenes into host cells.

Social networks are increasingly taking over daily life, creating a volume of unsecured data and making it very difficult to capture safe data, especially in times of crisis. This study aims to use a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)-Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM)-based hybrid model for health monitoring and health crisis forecasting. It consists of efficiently retrieving safe content from multiple social media sources.

Background: Facial recognition technology in medical imaging, particularly with head scans, poses privacy risks due to identifiable facial features. This study evaluates the use of facial recognition software in identifying facial features from head CT scans and explores a defacing pipeline using TotalSegmentator to reduce re-identification risks while preserving data integrity for research.
Methods: 1404 high-quality renderings from the UCLH EIT Stroke dataset, both with and without defacing were analysed.
