Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) is an opportunistic fungal infection that often occurs secondary to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. However, for non-HIV immunocompromised patients, such as those undergoing novel immunosuppressive treatments to manage malignancies, organ transplants, or connective tissue diseases, PJP is emerging as an increasing threat. The clinical manifestations of PJP in HIV-infected and non-HIV-infected patients differ significantly.

Low-dose methotrexate (LD-MTX) is the anchor drug used in the treatment of various rheumatological illnesses. There are a lot of misconceptions associated with the long-term use of MTX in the minds of practitioners. The global prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is increasing, resulting in an increased use of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors. Background: Despite the autoimmune nature of psoriasis, the potential association between psoriasis and interstitial lung disease (ILD) remains underexplored. This study aimed to investigate the frequency and clinical features of ILD in patients with psoriasis and propose a new conceptual framework of "ILD associated with psoriasis".
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 117 patients with psoriasis was conducted, excluding those without chest imaging prior to methotrexate or biologic use and those with other comorbidities leading to ILD.

Patients with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases (AIIRD) are potentially at a higher risk of contracting the SARS-CoV-2 virus and have poorer outcomes of the infection as a result of their immunocompromised state due to the nature of the underlying autoimmune conditions and immunosuppressant use. mRNA-based vaccines provide a novel approach to establishing immunity against SARS-CoV-2. However, the implications of toll-like receptors (TLRs), type I interferon (IFN) and pro-inflammatory cytokines raise concerns on disease severity and inefficient immune response following mRNA vaccination.
