Calcium (Ca)-dependent signalling plays a well-characterised role in the perception and response mechanisms to environmental stimuli in plant cells. In the context of a constantly changing environment, it is fundamental to understand how crop yield and microalgal biomass productivity are affected by external factors. Ca signalling is known to be important in different physiological processes in microalgae but many of these signal transduction pathways still need to be characterised.

Iron oxide-based nanoparticles are promising materials for cancer thermal therapy and immunotherapy. However, several proofs of concept reported data with murine tumor models that might have limitations for clinical translation. Magnetite is nowadays the most popular nanomaterial, but doping with distinct ions can enhance thermal therapy, namely, magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia (MNH) and photothermal therapy (PTT).

Heat stress (HS) induced by global warming is a real welfare, productivity, and economic burden of cattle production. However, some cattle breeds have superior physiological adaptive traits to others, yet the underlying molecular mechanisms are not fully defined. The present study aimed, therefore, to determine the expression profile of stress-related molecular signatures in the blood of thermosensitive Angus () and thermotolerant Brahman () cattle breeds managed without (CON) or with growth-promoting technology (TRT) during the summer (April-October, 2023) season in Colorado, US.

Morels ( spp.), as one of the rare macroascomycetes that can be cultivated artificially, possess significant economic and scientific values. Morel cultivation is highly sensitive to elevated temperatures; however, the mechanisms of their response to heat shock remain poorly understood.

In (Opisthokonta, Aphelida) zoospores, the expression of 7708 genes out of 7802 described genes was detected. For 589 of them, expression levels were shown to be more than 10 times higher than the median level. Among the highly expressed genes with known functions, the largest functional categories were "Cellular Metabolism", "Protein Synthesis", "Cell State Control", and "Nucleic Acid Processing".
