AI Article Synopsis

  • The study extracted humic-like acids (HLA) from compost at different maturation stages to evaluate their effectiveness in transforming 2,4,6-trimethylphenol under UV light (365 nm).
  • The phototransformation rate of the compound was highest with HLA from the initial extraction and showed similar effectiveness with HLAs harvested after 70, 130, and 730 days of maturation.
  • The research indicated that changes in the photoinductive ability of HLAs were closely linked to their absorptivity and that significant increases in humic fractions occurred during the first 70 days of composting, stabilizing afterward.

Article Abstract

Humic-like acids (HLA) were extracted from compost at the beginning and after 70, 130 and 730 days of maturation in order to be investigated for their ability to induce the transformation of 2,4,6-trimethylphenol under irradiation at 365 nm. The rate of 2,4,6-trimethylphenol phototransformation in the presence of HLA (25 mg l(-1)) varied within HLA 0<

This study provides a review of 13 oceanographic campaigns between 2000 and 2017 to measure Hg in the Mediterranean, highlighting major findings from measurement and modelling activities during the Med-Oceanor program. The initial campaigns showed that high concentrations of RGM could be found far from industrial source regions and the observed daily variation in concentration, with peaks at midday and lower concentrations during darkness gave the first indications that photochemically mediated oxidation reactions were producing RGM in the MBL. Later atmospheric chemistry modelling studies showed the feasibility of Hg oxidation by bromine containing oxidants, which are released as a result of the acidification of sea salt aerosols in the Marine Boundary Layer (MBL).

Since photosynthesis is highly sensitive to salinity stress, remote sensing of photosynthetic status is useful for detecting salinity stress during the selection and breeding of salinity-tolerant plants. To do so, photochemical reflectance index (PRI) is a potential measure to detect conversion of the xanthophyll cycle in photosystem II. Raphanus sativus var.

Background: This study evaluates the effects of ozone on hard and soft tissue healing when a free tissue flap is used to close wound areas lacking primary closure over autogenous grafted sites.

Methods: In our study, 24 male Wistar rats were divided into four groups: two control groups and two ozone-treated groups. All rats underwent the same surgical procedure.

For the first time, using a chemical pollutant (an antibiotic) as a photosensitizer to improve the elimination of a microbiological contaminant of emerging concern (antibiotic-resistant bacteria) is presented. The effect of ciprofloxacin (CIP) on the inactivation of three light-promoted antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) was evaluated. Ciprofloxacin-resistant Escherichia coli, ciprofloxacin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Myoglobin (Mb), an important cardiac marker, plays a crucial role in diagnosing, monitoring, and evaluating the condition of patients with cardiovascular diseases. Here, we propose a label-free photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor for the detection of Mb through target regulated the photoactivity of AgS/FeOOH heterojunction. The AgS/FeOOH nanospindles were synthesized and served as a sensing platform for the fabrication of bio-recognized process for Mb.
