The fabrication, use, and wear instructions for complete dentures are often the factors determining success. The dentist must help guide the mental attitude of the skeptical patient to foster acceptance and success of complete dentures. A "feeling of looseness" may be a condition experienced while patients learn to wear a new mandibular complete denture. Some patients may not understand the reasons given by dentists for the lack of retention of a new mandibular denture. This type of patient requires more explanation, more advice, and more instruction. A phonetic training technique, to demonstrate to the patient how to retain and stabilize the mandibular denture, may be needed for some denture patients. This article reports the clinical use of phonetics and its effect on tongue position to improve the retention and stability of a mandibular complete denture.

Background: The selection guideline for the implant-supported bar connectors (ISBC) of hybrid denture is lacking. This study investigated the maximum von Mises stress (vMS), stress distribution, and displacement of various geometric ISBC in mandibular hybrid dentures, as well as the maximum principal stress (σmax) in the acrylic resin part, through finite element analysis.
Methods: Four different geometric cross-sectional patterns for mandibular ISBC-L, Y, I, and Square-of equal volume, based on the "All-on-4" concept, were created.

This narrative review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) milled, and direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) titanium frameworks in hybrid denture prostheses. A structured PICO analysis and a review of ten publications were used to compare titanium frameworks for hybrid dentures made through milling, DMLS, and CAD-CAM milling. Prosthesis success, bone loss, patient satisfaction, framework fit, and biofilm adhesion were among the outcome indicators.

Due to bone loss, implant placement in the posterior mandible is often impossible without prior augentative procedures. The reconstruction of bone defects with horizontal and vertical components using particulated bone grafts requires the placement of a mechanically stable structure for stabilization of the grafting material. Although titanium-reinforced membranes and titanium meshes have been shown to be effective in this indication, the necessity of their removal, often in a separate surgical procedure, is seen as a disadvantage.

Methods: Thirty completely edentulous patients (fifteen each arm) presented to the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya were randomly selected for the SIMOD or TIMOD groups. Patients were initially provided with CD.
