Using an anterior portal for a labral elevator and shaver instrument, with the arthroscope in the anterosuperior portal, allows the posterior and posteroinferior chondrolabral junction to be safely prepared.

Although intense research effort is seeking to address which brain areas fire and connect to each other to produce complex behaviors in a few living primates, little is known about their evolution, and which brain areas or facets of cognition were favored by natural selection. By developing statistical tools to study the evolution of the brain cortex at the fine scale, we found that rapid cortical expansion in the prefrontal region took place early on during the evolution of primates. In anthropoids, fast-expanding cortical areas extended to the posterior parietal cortex.

Objective: There are many advantages to stabilize the posterior pelvic ring injuries with a transiliac-transsacral (TITS) screw percutaneously. To identify the correct entry point and insert a guidewire accurately for a TITS screw, we propose a method of specifying the optimal entry point, and introduce a technique of enabling freehand placement of a guidewire with fluoroscopic guidance.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 116 patients who underwent pelvic CT scans and pelvic lateral radiographs at our institution from January 2020 to April 2022 were enrolled.

There are reported here multiple rare anatomical variants of the sphenoidal sinus found in a 53-year-old male. The sinus exhibited uncommon features, including a prominent occipital recess extending bilaterally into the basilar part of the occipital bone. A narrow posterior isthmus connected the main chamber to 2 recesses: a superior postsellar recess pneumatising the dorsum sellae, and a postero-inferior occipital recess.

Background: The anatomy of the retrotympanum is highly variable, and surgical access is challenging. In the medial retrotympanum, a descending series of recesses are found: the posterior tympanic sinus, the sinus tympani (ST), and the subtympanic sinus (STS). Most of the previous anatomical studies of the ST evaluated it as a single depression of variable width and depth, without recesses, just on axial sections.

Posterior glenohumeral instability represents a wide spectrum of pathoanatomic processes. A key consideration is the interplay between the posterior capsulolabral complex and the osseous anatomy of the glenoid and humeral head. Stability is dependent upon both the presence of soft tissue pathology (eg, tears to the posteroinferior labrum or posterior band of the inferior glenohumeral ligament, glenoid bone loss, reverse Hill Sachs lesions, and pathologic glenoid retroversion or dysplasia) and dynamic stabilizing forces.
