Six monoterpene glycosides were isolated from Fadogia agrestis. Their structures were elucidated using a combination of mass spectroscopy, 1D- and 2D-homo- and hetero-NMR spectroscopy and chemical analysis, and established as being derivatives of 2,6-dimethyl-2(E),6(Z)-octadiene-1,8-diol containing from two to four units of rhamnopyranose and, three of them, one or two additional units of glucopyranose. In three of the compounds an acyl group of 8-hydroxy-2,6-dimethyl-2(E),6(Z)-octadienoyl was found esterifying the O-2 position of one of the units of rhamnopyranose.

A comprehensive phytochemical investigation of the twigs/leaves and flower buds of , a rare deciduous shrub native to China, led to the isolation of 39 structurally diverse compounds. These compounds include 11 iridoid glycosides (- and -), 20 triterpenoids (, , and -), and 8 phenylpropanoids (-). Among these, amabiliosides A () and B () represent previously undescribed bis-iridoid glycosides, while amabiliosides C () and D () feature a unique bis-iridoid-monoterpenoid indole alkaloid scaffold with a tetrahydro--carboline-5-carboxylic acid moiety.

Background: Doxorubicin (DOX) is a widely used anticancer drug; However, its nephrotoxicity limits its therapeutic efficacy. This study investigates the protective effects of Perilla Alcohol (PA) against DOX-induced nephrotic syndrome (NS), focusing on its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties through the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB) pathways.
Methods: A DOX-induced nephrotic syndrome (NS) rat model and a DOX-treated Mouse Podocyte Cell line 5 (MPC5) cell model were used to evaluate the renal protective effects of PA.
